In 2025 we have a few new innovations:
Participation Goal
The goal is to have as many people on the ice as possible on December 14, 2025.
Aim high to bring as many people to your event as you can – if your club has 40 Skaters, aim to have at least 60 people attending your WISD event.
Encourage all the members of your club to bring at least one new person to the ice rink on WISD. You can give a prize to the person who brings the most new participants!
Registration of Participants
Between December 2-12, skaters, coaches, families and volunteers who are planning to come to your WISD event can register on the World Ice Skating Day website, through the event locator page. They can then download the ISU app and have a chance to win tickets to an ISU Event later this season!
Moves of the Day
We will be posting ‘Moves of the Day’ to challenge our Skaters new and old to strike some poses, take some photos and have some fun.
Keeping the fun going after World Ice Skating Day
Make sure that you have information easily available about
- Opening hours and costs to skate at the ice rink
- How to join the local skating club
- How to book skating lessons with a coach
- How to keep in touch with skating as a fan through the club website, the ISU Member, and the ISU website
- It’s Olympic Winter Games season so if skaters from your country will participate, give them some publicity and encourage WISD participants to follow and support their Olympic journey!
